An orphanage in Komarovka, Ukraine

"And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me." Matt.18:5

May 2006 Early in May we joined the orphanage kids in the forest near Komarivka. Children showed us an interesting folk performance, Ukrainian traditions and played games.


Then we were able to offer an incentive to the children at Komarivka orphanage. A number of students who worked hard in their classes and showed initiative in their studies were selected to go on a special field trip to Kiev for the day.

This group enjoyed the day visiting a few key sites in the center of Kiev including St. Michael's Cathedral and a guided tour of St. Sofia's Cathedral and then had a fun lunch at Mc Donalds.


After lunch we spend the rest of the afternoon at the Kiev Zoo. As you can see from the pictures, everyone in the group had a great time. We hope to offer this trip again next spring to visit some new sites in Kiev!
